Santa's Mailbox

Price: FREE

Children can bring their letters to Santa and drop it in the colorful mailbox located next to the flagpole at the Fantasy of Lights display on the Midwestern State University campus.  Be sure to include a self-addressed envelope with a stamp inside your letter so Santa and his elves can write you back!  

December 18th is the last day to drop off your letters...Santa is a busy man and needs time to respond!  

Note:  Fantasy of Lights at MSU is located at 3410 Taft Blvd.  

Museum of North Texas History Christmas Exhibit

Price: Free Admission

Join the Museum of North Texas History for this magical holiday exhibit featuring model trains plus toys of Christmas' past through the decades.  

This exhibit will be on display beginning November 19 through December 30.  

Museum Hours are Tuesday-Saturday 10:00am-4:00pm.

MSU-Burns Fantasy of Lights

Price: FREE

The MSU-Burns Fantasy of Lights is one of the largest holiday displays of its kind and a much beloved tradition in Wichita Falls.  34 lighted animated displays adorn the front lawn of Midwestern State University along with over 20,000 christmas lights outlining the campus buildings.  Over 20,000 people visit the Fantasy of Lights display annually and young and old alike marvel in the magic of this time-honored display.  

Hours:  Sunday-Thursday dusk until 10:00pm and Friday-Saturday dusk until 11:00pm.

*Fantasy of Lights is a non-profit organization that relies solely on dontations and volunteers.  We encourage visitors to make a donation in order to keep this holiday tradition alive for years to come.

Santa House

Price: $3.00 per person

The historic Kell House invites you to our 34th annual Santa House, November 29 - December 9.  

Children of all ages are invited to enjoy our original Christmas play, The Magical Rocking Horse, Part I, as well as make a keepsake ornament to take home, visit with Santa, and decorate a cookie to eat with Mrs. Claus!  

Admission is just $3.00 per person.  

Tours begin every 15 minutes: 

  • Weekdays 9:00am-12:30pm
  • Friday evenings  6:00pm-8:00pm
  • Saturdays 10:00am-3:00pm
  • Sundays 1:00pm-3:00pm

*Due to the high volume of school tours, reservations are highly recommended for weekday visits.

Christmas Tour of Homes

Price: $20.00 per person

The Woman's Forum invites you to a special event where holiday joy inhabits every dwelling.  It's the 37th Annual Christmas Tour of Homes, a holiday tour of uniquely decorated private homes in the Wichita Falls area.  A complete list of the homes will be available soon.  

This year's tour will be Tuesday, December 6 from 11:00am-8:00pm.  

Tickets are $20 per person.  Advanced tickets can be purchased at United Market Street, Harvest Drug & Gift, and The Forum.  Tickets will also be available at each tour house the day of the event.

Nuncrackers Christmas Musical

Nuncrackers: The Nunsense Christmas Musical is the first "TV Special" taped by the sisters in their convent basement studio for Cable Access. It stars the nuns you love plus Father Virgil and some of Mt. Saint Helen's most talented students. It features all new songs including: Twelve Days Prior to Christmas, Santa Ain't Comin' To Our House, We Three Kings of Orient Are Us, and It's Better to Give Than To Receive. This show is filled with "Nunsense" humor, some of your favorite carols, a "Secret Santa," and an uproarious take on Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Ballet. Nuncrackers will make you laugh and maybe tug at your heartstrings. It's the perfect way to insure your holiday season is merry and bright.​

ElectriCritters

Reindeer galloping, woodpeckers pecking, and frogs wearing holiday hats, this is no ordinary walk down a nature trail.  This is ElectriCritters, the 14th annual lighted display at River Bend Nature Center. With the flip of a switch, more than 60,000 lights on more than 150 silhouettes will glitter along the nature trail, bringing the sights and sounds of the season to adults and children. After walking the trail, come in from the cold to the Candy Cane Café and enjoy hot chocolate and apple cider.  Feast on hot cookies and popcorn, and shop for holiday gifts and stocking stuffers. River Bend is stroller and wheelchair accessible. ElectriCritters is the major fundraiser of River Bend Nature Center and the proceeds help fund the education programs enjoyed by over 35,000 children and adults of our community each year.

Morningside Luminarias

Price: Free to the public

For three decades, residents and visitors alike have enjoyed this serene neighborhood all lit up with glowing luminaries that line the streets.  Some 1,500 candles nestled in white bags will give this historic neighborhood an ethereal glow from dusk until the candles blow out.  The lanterns will line the winding streets around the Morningside Pond and on Ninth Street.  

And the glowing lanterns aren't the only reason to cruise through this historic neighborhood.  Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the homes in Morningside boast a variety of architechtural styles from American Foursquare to Georgian and Tudor.  Some homes date as far back as 1919.

Wichita Falls Symphony Orchestra

Ring in the sounds of the holiday season with the Wichita Falls Symphony Orchestra, featuring the combined choirs Wichita Falls ISD's high schools along with the Wichita Falls Youth Symphony Orchestra.

City Lights Trolley Tours

Price: $5.00 per person, $2.00 Kids 5 and under

Hop aboard a vintage trolley and enjoy a visit with Santa!  The trip will start off with hot chocolate and cookies with Santa upstairs above the Public Library (The Recreation Center) in Room 202 and will end back at the same location after a ride through the Fantasy of Lights Display and a tour of the beautiful homes in the Country Club neighborhood. 

Tours will leave every hour beginning at 6:00pm, 7:00pm, 8:00pm and 9:00pm.

Candlelight Tours at the Kell House
