The Country Club Estates was the city's first highly restricted residential neighborhood and was dedicated in 1926. This stately neighborhood contains the largest collection of the city's larger, older homes, including "Oil Baron's Row", all wonderfully decorated for the holiday season.

The much-anticipated Morningside Luminarias display fits in with this historic neighborhoods' unique charm. Neighbors join together and light amost 4,000 luminarias, or little lanterns of candles inside paper lamp shades, that illuminate the charming, tree-lined, winding streets by candlelight for approximately 3 hours each evening. Morningside, which is on the National Register of Historic Places, is one of the most picturesque neighborhoods in the city, with its roads winding around the contours of the old Wichita River Bank. The homes are in quaint proximity to each other, all boasting different architectural styles and dating as far back as 1919.
